In this article, I want to share with you an inspiring message that has been laid upon my heart. It is my belief that this message will serve as timely and encouraging words, a prophetic utterance for you and for all those reading today. The core theme revolves around pursuing the abundant life that Yahweh, our Lord, has graciously provided. Last week, Apostle Nicky reminded us of the words of Jesus in John 10:10, where He proclaims that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but He has come to give us life, and life abundantly.

Today, I want to emphasize that the kingdom of God is never in crisis, regardless of the chaotic events happening in the world. It is crucial to remember that as citizens of the kingdom of God, our ultimate allegiance lies with Him, no matter the nation we reside in. The stability and unwavering nature of His kingdom should bring comfort and encouragement amidst the uncertainties of life.

Now, let us delve into the passage from 1 Corinthians 9, where the apostle Paul addresses the church in Corinth. In this chapter, Paul establishes his identity as an apostle and highlights the surrender of his rights and freedom to serve others. I am particularly captivated by one verse in this passage, which has held my attention for quite some time. The Holy Spirit has impressed upon me the significance of this verse and the phrase it contains. Allow me to share it with you:

"Isn't it obvious that all runners on the racetrack keep on running to win, but only one receives the Victor's prize? Yet each one of you must run the race to be victorious." (1 Corinthians 9:24)

The phrase that resonates profoundly with me is "run in such a way." It compels us to reflect on how we are running the race of life. What does it mean to run in such a way? This question demands our attention, as it holds the key to understanding our purpose and pace in life. It is not merely about moving forward; rather, it is about moving according to the divine rhythm set by Yahweh in each season.

Understanding the season we are in becomes pivotal in determining our approach to running. Personally, I sense that my family and I are entering a season of sprinting. I extend this invitation to many of you, as I believe the Lord is beckoning you to embrace a season of acceleration. As we transition from the summer months into the fall, a unique and remarkable time awaits Capital Worship Centre.

However, it is essential to prepare ourselves adequately for the season that lies ahead. We cannot embark on this journey while depleted or lacking inner strength. To run with endurance, we must take time to seek God's presence, allowing Him to fortify our spirits. Devoting ourselves to meditation, prayer, and immersing in His Word will equip us for the race that awaits.

Discipline and intentionality shape our running style. As verse 25 states, athletes competing for a perishable crown practice self-control in all things. Similarly, we strive for an imperishable crown, the Victor's Crown, which is eternally significant. Our pursuit should be marked by certainty, purpose, and discipline, avoiding aimless efforts. The apostle Paul emphasizes the importance of self-discipline, bringing his body into subjection, and avoiding disqualification.

We possess the ability to discern the seasons of our lives and make intentional choices in response. Whether we are called to sprint or endure, it is crucial to seek God's guidance, aligning our pace with His divine plan. Just as Jesus exemplified both rest and focused action, we too must discern the balance between the two. Jesus frequently withdrew to pray and find solace in the Father's presence, replenishing His spirit after pouring Himself out for others.

Let us embrace the concept of "rest and race." Although it may be tempting to settle into a state of rest, we must recognize the need to alternate between seasons of rest and seasons of advancement. We find this principle embedded in Jesus' teachings and the writings of the apostle Paul. By understanding the season and its requirements, we position ourselves to run purposefully and effectively.

Allow me to share a personal anecdote to illustrate this concept. During my high school years, our school organized a fundraising event for the track team. Participants sought sponsors who pledged a certain amount per lap run. On that day, I embarked on a remarkable journey. While others stopped after running a few laps, a friend and I continued relentlessly. Before I knew it, I had completed 80 laps, equivalent to running 20 miles without a single pause. The experience taught me the importance of discerning the season and its demands, highlighting the significance of endurance when required.

In light of these reflections, I want to emphasize that we are entering an extraordinary season at Capital Worship Center. Doors of opportunity will swing open, and it is paramount that we recognize the season we are in and align our pace with God's calling. Therefore, before the fall months arrive, I urge you to seek God's presence, discern your season, and prepare yourself for the race ahead.

Remember, God has uniquely gifted and wired each of us for a purpose. Whether we have met in person or not, I believe that God has divinely appointed you to impact His kingdom. Take the time to discern your season and understand the rest and race dynamics. Together, let us become a movement of people who discern, prepare, and faithfully run the race set before us.
